Chances are, if you've turned on a TV or logged onto social media in the past year, or have kids, you've heard of Grogu!
But who is this character that has taken the world by storm? And what's his connection to the Mandalorian? Let's take a closer look.
Grogu, also known as "Baby Yoda," is a member of the same species as the Jedi Master Yoda. He first appeared in the Disney+ show "The Mandalorian" in 2019 and quickly became a fan-favorite character.
While his true name has not been revealed, he has been referred to by several other names, including "the Child," "the Asset," and simply " Baby Yoda."
Grogu was born around 50 years before the events of "The Mandalorian" and was raised by the Jedi Order.
However, after Order 66—a directive issued by Emperor Palpatine that led to the rise of Darth Vader and the collapse of the Jedi—Grogu went into hiding. He was eventually found by Din Djarin, aka “the Mandalorian,” who brought him to safety.
The relationship between Grogu and the Mandalorian has been a central focus of the show. While Grogu clearly has a strong connection to the Force, he has not yet been trained in how to use it.
As such, Djarin has been struggling with whether or not to take him to see another Jedi so that he can be properly trained. However, Djarin has grown attached to Grogu and seems reluctant to let him go.
